When it speaks to you

I am almost done reading the Ensign issue of General Conference. It's taken me awhile to get through it! It feels as though the General Authorities are speaking right to me. The Sunday afternoon session in particular was all about what I needed to hear: remember the Holy Ghost each day and invite the Spirit to be with you each day; avoiding the trap of sin where Satan lures us in with skillful techniques so that little by little we fall into paths we never expected to be on; and most importantly, what have you done with My name? That talk hit home. Are we living in a way that our Savior would be proud? Before we act, are we picturing the Savior at our side? Would we continue to act the way we were planning if He were there? Because He is there!

Kid's fashion sense

Last week at church I sat behind a family with six kids. One of the girls, about 8 or so, had on an outfit that made me wish I was little again. She was wearing tan cowboy boots, black textured stockings, a multi-colored corduroy skirt, and a multi-colored top. I think the only color the skirt and top had in common was differing shades of pink. This girl, though, wore her outfit with such confidence that it worked. Kids have this different kind of fashion sense where they don't follow ANY rules. I would love to have the confidence to dress with that kind of abandon, throw on clothes that suit my fancy that day, and walk around proud. :)
